What Customers Say About TRENDnet 4-Port USB KVM Switch Kit (Includes 4x KVM Cables):

After a couple of month of usage it will develop a issue with the PC where when i switch to that PC it will continue to blink the green light and will not turn solid and i was not able to see what is going on with that PC. Can not get it to work if i only unplug the problem PC, all the cable needs to be removed ( i guess for it to rest or something). I had minor compatibility issue with one of the PC i have. After i plug all the cables and reconnected back to the KVM it will work.

The only missing feature is that it doesn't have a port for your speaker cable so whichever computer is your primary one is the one you should hook your speakers into. I have a USB keyboard and mouse and if I want to switch between the 2 windows, machines I just have to hit a button. Bought this to switch between two windows machine. It works great. If you're looking for a basic 4 port KVM, this is a good one.

Very happy with this product, massive time saver and well worth the money. I have attached a newer HP Desktop (Windows 7), a 2 year old Toshiba Laptop (Win7), a two year old Compaq laptop (Win7) and an ancient PentiumII eMachine (512MB RAM) Windows XP and all computers worked flawlessly out of the box with their respective USB (auto) installs. Cables included was a no-brainer as these can get quite expensive if you opt to purchase them separately. This KVM even works with my center mouse clicking feature on my mouse which was not working with my older KVM. Switching speed is fast.

Perfect for home use or any computer/server you don't have or want a monitor for. SCROLL-LOCK (x2) key combination works for switching as well but I typically use the hardware buttons now that I've gotten used to them. No drivers, no software, has expected plug-n-play USB, just plugged it in and it works. This is exactly what I needed. Having the monitor cable + single USB cord per attached computer is nice as well since I have an old laptop that is short on usb connections.

I have a Logitech mouse that uses SetPoint software.

Other than it's funny plug locations on all sides, and the VM issue, its fine. When I move my mouse into the VM the KVM thinks I did something and it changes to the next computer. My problem is I use VMWare often. Even with the slight hassle of hitting the button now and then after going into a VM, it's still worth it. I've seen many comment on its placement of the connections, one each side making it a pain. Ok, that's true. I then have to press the button on top switch.

All in all, this KVM works for me well, and the price was right. In any event, that would be bad if a machine That's no problem as long as it works. It seems to take about 2 seconds to switch between machines, which is acceptable though a bit slower than IOGear. One thing I found out is that if a machine is down, you cannot switch out of it until it completely boots again. Compared to 2-port IOGear KVM I used in the past, it is comparable in performance while cheaper.I have 2 Windows XP machines and 1 Ubuntu connected to this switch. For some reason, I have to hit Num Lock instead of Scroll Lock whenswitching out of Ubuntu. I am not sure if that was the case with IOGear, or all other KVMs. I have had this KVM switch for about 2 months now. No problem encountered so far. This may be more than an inconvenience.
